At OcioAventura Cerro Gordo we are equipped to offer you routes tailored to your personal characteristics in the heart of Andalusia.
We study the most interesting option so that the groups visiting us enjoy an unforgettable day.
Our main facilities are located in Cuevas Bajas, in the province of Málaga, which allows us to carry out this activity in direct contact with nature. We are close to the Antequera region, crossed by rivers and streams that nourish the vegetation along their course. You will also see large areas of farmland that sustain the local population.
After several hours of hiking, you have the option to rest in our rural accommodations with a swimming pool or to enjoy a lunch.

Ruta Olivares del Genil (Cuevas Bajas – Cuevas de San Marcos )
ROUTE DETAILS
Our journey begins in the town of Cuevas Bajas. A few minutes later, we encounter the first slope: the Taraje slope, with a 13% incline.
After approximately 15 minutes, we reach a significant downhill where we can see the village of La Aceña below, the Sierra de Rute in the distance, and to the left, the town of Encinas Reales.
Upon reaching the village of La Aceña, we find a scattered group of country houses and orchards by the banks of the Genil River. This area belongs to the municipality of Cuevas de San Marcos. After crossing it, there is a waterwheel still in use for irrigating the orchards and olive groves.
Taking advantage of being halfway and in such a spectacular setting, we can rest and observe the native fauna and flora, completely different from the previous one. We are by the Genil River, in a riverside forest surrounded by white poplars, black poplars, willows, reeds, and bulrushes. We find an important birdlife of little egret, ducks like the mallard, and common bustard.
We continue along a wide mule track close to the riverbank. On the right, we find olive trees, and on the left, riverside forest.
We begin to climb the last slope of the route, and we can already see the town of Cuevas de San Marcos and behind it, the Sierra del Camorro. In a few minutes, we reach our destination, and after 300 meters of descent, we find ourselves at Plaza de Morana, where the vehicles are waiting for us.
